Meet Christian. We asked him to share his favorite travel destination with us, and in true sales manager form he sold us on his native Germany. Here he takes a moment away from his loves of hiking, traveling, and sailing to give us some insight on his hometown.

FAVORITE DESTINATION: Cologne, Germany.

HOT SPOTS: Cologne is home to numerous world-famous museums and over 250 churches, among them the unique Cologne Cathedral, a World Heritage site. After touring the city go for a Kölsch, a term used for beer in Cologne, and some authentic German food at Peters Brauhaus (Mühlengasse 1), a brewery located close to the Old Market.  

TRAVEL TIPS: US Airways offers daily service to Frankfurt from its hubs in Philadelphia and Charlotte, N.C. Cologne is located 150 miles north, but the drive gives you a great opportunity to see the landscape along the Rhine River Valley.
