Your Two Cents

From the Editor

Last month’s issue marked a major redesign of this magazine. If you missed it, let me summarize what we’re up to. We introduced a new cover style and made changes in design, typography, and content. We are committed to travel and lifestyle topics — and we will continue to provide high-quality puzzles. We’re also intent on delivering behind-the-scenes stories about how the airline works — and much of it is fascinating and far more complex than any of us might realize.

We’re curious to know what you think about our redesign. As an incentive, we’ll be doing a random drawing for $500 among those who share their thoughts in 100 words or less. Click here and drop us a line.

For this first issue of 2012, we have a few timely stories. Our cover story on Ireland offers eight reasons to plan a trip soon. As a former resident and frequent traveler to Erin, Lucinda Hahn wrote this story after her latest visit, a couple of months ago. As she notes, in terms of lodging, Ireland is the least expensive in Western Europe.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, wine expert Nick Passmore is full of advice on sparkling wines, both excellent and affordable.

Perhaps our most curious article this month is “From Toque to Tee” by Larry Olmsted. This story is based on the writer’s firsthand experience playing golf with a few celebrity chefs. What Larry found is that a surprising number of the country’s top chefs are passionate golfers.

Until next month, enjoy your flight.
