Window or Aisle?

As the senior vice president in strategic training for a nonprofit company, Jefferey Ventrella is an attorney by training. But this time, we’re asking the questions.
Why US Airways?
I’m at the Chairman’s Preferred level and have always been treated really well. Working for a nonprofit, we have to be cost-conscious, yet we still need a full-service carrier that has benefits.
How often do you travel?
The last couple of years I’ve flown over 200,000 miles. I never count the days, but I can work backwards from the miles.
I do speaking around the world. I make deals and develop relationships face-to-face with people. I also operate training programs in the U.S and abroad for attorneys and students, and I participate in a lot of debates.
If you had to travel with only three things, what would they be?
I’m assuming this is other than clothes! I’d love to travel with my wife, because that rarely happens now. I’d also say my iPad and good wine.
If you could sit next to any person on a plane, who would you choose and why?
I’d have to say Jesus Christ, because that would be fascinating. But I’m not really worthy of that seat.
Book or e-reader?
I do a lot of scholarly work, and if I’m reading scholarly books then I’m that guy who sits there with the book, a highlighter, and a pen, and I beat up the book. But I do also consume a lot of books on an e-reader. It really depends on the purpose of the reading.
Checked bags or carry-on?
I always carry on.
What’s a dream trip you’ve yet to take?
I’ve traveled all over — six continents. But I’d love to go, for no particular purpose, to Tuscany.
Favorite frequent-flyer perk?
The upgrades.
Window or aisle?
The aisle. I don’t have to disturb people if I have to get up.
Ventrella’s Travel Tip
Don’t get impatient when things get out of control. They were never in your control to begin with.
