Upgrading Your Travel Experience
Chairman and CEO Doug Parker
US Airways flies to more than 200 destinations in 32 countries. But through our membership in the Star Alliance network, we’re able to offer you, our customer, 21,000 daily flights to 1,160 airports in 181 countries.
Star Alliance, formed in 1997, is a global network of 27 partner airlines that offers travelers the benefit of a unified travel experience. From ticketing to airport check-in, lounge access, and connections, the Star Alliance network provides you with a smooth, convenient worldwide travel experience.
Your travel plans might include Prague, Singapore, or Istanbul, which are not US Airways destinations but are served by Star Alliance member carriers Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, and Turkish Airlines. Thanks to our membership in Star Alliance, you could book your trip — which would most likely include flying a portion of your travels on US Airways and connecting to our partner airline’s flight — easily and efficiently with US Airways through our Web site or reservations center.
Another benefit we know members of our frequent flyer program, Dividend Miles, care deeply about is the ability to earn and redeem miles on any Star Alliance member carrier. Now that US Airways is part of the Star Alliance Upgrade Awards program, our frequent flyers can use their Dividend Miles to upgrade one class of service (coach to business or business to first class) on other Star Alliance member airlines. Likewise, a member of any of the other participating partner programs, like Air China’s PhoenixMiles®, can use their miles on upgrades when traveling on US Airways.
Soon, a new feature we’re launching on our Web site, usairways.com, will save our Dividend Miles members time by letting them redeem miles for award travel on partner airlines without having to call our reservations center. So, for example, if one of our Dividend Miles members wants to redeem miles for travel from Phoenix to Santiago, Chile, by way of Continental, one of our fellow Star Alliance member carriers, he or she can do that with just a few clicks of the mouse at usairways.com.
Though today’s technology makes it easier to do business and connect with friends and family, we know that nothing can replace face-to-face human interaction. Our membership in the world’s premier airline alliance makes it easier for you to make those connections with others.
On behalf of the 31,000 employees at US Airways, thank you for flying with US today. We hope to see you on a flight again soon.
Welcome!
