It may not be in his native Jamaica, but the new Marley Resort & Spa in Nassau offers an authentic tribute to Bob Marley. His widow and children recently opened the family’s longtime summer retreat along Cable Beach as a 16-suite hotel. Each guest room is named for a different Marley song and has decor to match the tune’s theme. “One Love” is the honeymoon suite; “Three Little Birds” is done up in vibrant yellows, blues, and oranges; and “Kinky Reggae” comes in shades of red, green, and gold. Live music abounds, and many of the suites have balconies overlooking a courtyard performance stage. The resort’s restaurant, Simmer Down, serves Caribbean cuisine including pepper pot soup, one of Marley’s favorite dishes.
