Part restaurant, part haunted house, the Jekyll and Hyde Pub in Greenwich Village is a great place to spend a Halloween evening. Billed as the only haunted restaurant in Manhattan, the pub pays homage to the bizarre world of the restaurant’s namesake mad scientist and his alter ego.

Diners are entertained by impromptu dinner theater featuring characters like Tobias the Werewolf, Claw the Gargoyle, Dreadmina the Vampire, and the demented chambermaid. The menu includes a list of burgers like the Dr. Jekyll (“plain and simple”) and the Mummy (ground sirloin wrapped in your choice of cheese). You can also get the Cannibal’s Pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and meatballs. Top it all off with the Death by Chocolate Mousse pie. The monstrous beer menu features more than 250 varieties from around the world, including suds from Africa, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, the Caribbean, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.

After dinner, more adventurous guests can explore the bookcase-lined hallway, where hidden chambers await. They might even get to witness the spooky transformation of mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll into the hideous Mr. Hyde.
