No guidebook? No problem. Just make a pit stop in downtown Phoenix at the new Visitor Information Center. Start in front of the grid of nine 50-inch plasma-screen TVs that fill an entire wall with scenes from Arizona’s desert landscapes and tourist hot spots. Then get interactive with the 43-inch iMap. Its touchscreen function allows you to zoom in on state maps and access information on nearby restaurants, hotels, or nightlife activities. With two free Internet workstations on site, you can also check your email. If you’re looking for traditional brochures, you’ll find more than 500 of them available. The center is open weekdays until 5 p.m. It’s located at Convention Center West across from the Hyatt Regency Phoenix Hotel. For more info, call 877.225.5749.
